TRAILMARKED: Granite & ThuNDER (Book 1)

A wilderness adventure novel

Three friends. One wilderness. Endless discoveries.

Reimagined and significantly expanded, this edition offers a richer adventure, stronger friendships, deeper wilderness exploration, and more opportunities to discover the science woven throughout the natural world.

Jonah Hart, Deb Mercer, and Eli Bennett have spent years learning the skills of the backcountry from parents who work in some of the wildest places on earth. Now they have finally earned the opportunity they've been waiting for: their first extended wilderness expedition without adults leading the way.

Together, they venture into a world of rushing mountain streams, hidden waterfalls, alpine meadows, towering granite ridges, and deep spruce forests. Every trail brings new discoveries. Every landscape presents new questions. Every decision matters.

As they navigate changing weather, challenging terrain, wildlife encounters, and the countless surprises of the backcountry, the three friends learn that adventure is about far more than reaching a destination. It is about observation, teamwork, courage, wisdom, and learning to read the remarkable world around them.

Filled with authentic outdoor adventure, fascinating natural science, memorable friendships, and breathtaking wilderness exploration, Trailmarked: Granite & Thunder invites readers into a world where curiosity is rewarded, challenges build confidence, and every journey reveals something extraordinary.

Perfect for readers who love wilderness adventures, nature, science, exploration, and stories that inspire wonder.

Adventure is waiting. The trail begins here.

The ocean keeps secrets.

Jonah Hart, Deb Mercer, and Eli Bennett are back on the trail, this time trading granite peaks for a wild stretch of Pacific coast.

For days, they’ll travel through a landscape built by waves, wind, and volcanic stone, crossing tide flats and basalt ledges, climbing through dunes, exploring tidepools, watching wildlife, and discovering just how much can be hidden along twenty miles of seemingly empty shoreline.

But this coast refuses to be predictable.

The trail changes with every tide. Islands appear within reach. Strange formations raise new questions. Wildlife turns up where they least expect it. And the farther Jonah, Deb, and Eli travel, the more they realize that reading the coast takes more than following a map.

Jonah notices what doesn’t quite fit. Deb has a talent for finding the way through. Eli records every discovery, theory, and occasionally questionable conclusion in his field notebook.

Together, they’ll have to read the rocks, watch the water, understand the wildlife, and put their outdoor skills to work as one discovery leads to another.

Twenty miles. Three friends. One extraordinary coastline.

And somewhere between the salt, stone, wind, and waves, an ordinary backpacking trip becomes an adventure none of them could have planned.

The coast is always changing. The question is what they’ll discover next.
